Meet Durgesh Raturi - New CEO

Durgesh Raturi

To enable Waste Warriors to become a successful organisation and find solutions to the problems we face, it is important that we have the right kind of leadership and management. To have a long lasting impact we need to become a national organisation with a presence in each and every state of India. We had nearly 200 applications for the post of CEO but when we interviewed Durgesh, we knew we'd found the right person for the job.

Durgesh studied at St George’s College, Mussoorie followed by B Com, Commerce, Accounting & Economics. He has more than 15 years of experience, leading large and complex organisations/teams with P&L sizes in excess of 20 million USD PA. He was previously Head of Operations – Capita India Pvt Ltd, a leading business process outsourcing (BPO) and professional services company, managing teams of up to 1500 people.

“I have been working for the Corporate Sector for 15 years and decided it was time to do something different. I had been watching Waste Warriors for a couple of years and knew they were trying to clean up the town I grew up in. In the competitive corporate world, I knew there were people queuing up to do my job and there was a likelihood that my experience could actually make a difference to Waste Warriors. In the last 2 months that I’ve been around, I’ve probably felt as rewarded as when I got my first promotion. The future for this organisation is looking very exciting and I’m delighted to be a part of it.”
