Twenty six team members from the AGA Khan Foundation, a part of the Khan Development Network visited Waste Warriors Dehradun for an exposure trip to see first hand, our working practices and methods.
The two- day event held on the 25th and 26th October 2017, included indoor and outdoor sessions, visits to locations that are maintained by Waste Warriors and our segregation area and a composting workshop. There were three interactive sessions in which a presentation was given with in-depth information on how to conduct clean up drives, community transformations, event waste management projects, etc. The sessions were conducted by our Operations Manager Naveen Sadana and Education Assistant Ankita Kunwar. The exposure trip of the AGA Khan Foundation was a wonderful experience in which the participants were extremely interactive and had a lot of questions for us. It was a good learning experience for both the teams.
Arshad Rivzi, Program Officer-Urban Improvements said “ We had a wonderful experience to see the works of Waste Warriors in Dehradun. Especially the way the informal sector is involved in waste management and area transformation. It was a great experience for the entire team and we will surely be replicating certain things in our communities back in Delhi.”
