OUR GAME PLAN
Waste Warriors volunteers will be divided in two groups of minimum 5 volunteers each.
The idea is to have at least one volunteer responsible for the waste at every check point.
Group A headed by a Waste Warriors member, along with Chrsyalid team will be driven up to Galu Temple. Here the trek starts and they will be cleaning the way as they go along. Each volunteer will be dropped off at the assigned aid station along with their cleaning equipments .
Group B will start from the end of the route i.e. from Chrysalid Camp. Similarly each volunteer will be allocated specific aid stations for the second half of the route.
DURING THE EVENT
Volunteers at the aid stations will be ensuring that their area assigned is maintained throughout the race and will also be working 100 metres either side of the aid station keeping it clean. We will also have printed drawstrings bags for the following categories at each aid station:
• Plastic bottles
• Chip packets / wrappers
• Paper / Tetra Pack
• Non Recyclables
When a runner reaches any aid station, he is asked to drop off the garbage in the right bin. This ensures that the waste is segregated at source and as much as possible is recycled!
TOWARDS THE END
Once the last runner has passed an aid station, the area will be cleaned. The garbage will be segregated, tied up and placed along the route. This is when the volunteer can go back to the base station along with the rest of the members at the camp.
WASTE MANAGEMENT EQUIPMENT
Draw string bags and gloves for suitable handling of waste and segregation will be provided by Waste Warriors.
MEDICAL,FOOD AND TRANSPORT
Medical, Food and transport arrangements will be provided by Mountain Trail Running India and Chrysalid Outdoors.
